Holy Infant Academy, or HIA, is the only parochial school in Calapan City and the first of fifteen established in Oriental Mindoro. It was founded in 1937 by the SSpS Sisters and is located in Ilaya, Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro. It offers education in preparatory, elementary grades 1-6, and high school. The school is headed by its principal, Mrs. Alona V. Cueto, with the school director, Fr. Nestor J. Adalia.
On July 2, 1936, Oriental Mindoro became an Apostolic Prefecture, with Bishop William Finnemann as its first Prefect. He requested the SSps Sisters to open a Catholic school under the parish to support the missionary work of the Divine Word Missionaries. On March 26, 1937, the congregation sent Sisters to Calapan. The new school was named Holy Infant Academy, in honor of the Child Jesus, locally known as Sto. Niño.
